The resort city Hua Hin is situated on the west coast of the Gulf of Thailand. It is situated near Bangkok, Thai capital, in 134 km by straight road. There is proper airport in Hua Hin, but it is used only for Royal and military flights. If you want to get to the city from the capital or from the Suvarnabhumi Airport, you should use cab, you can book transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin or use public transport.

Taxi from Bangkok to Hua Hin
The easiest way is a cab, but for comfort and speed, you should pay about 2000-3000 baht. You can bargain with the driver and cut the price for 200-500 baht. There is a post for booking an official taxi in the airport. You can book it being in any part of the capital. The trip will take you about 2.5 – 3 hours.
Minivans
It will be cheaper to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin using public transport. The most popular is local minivan. There are few bus stops where minibuses depart: subway Victory Monument, Khaosan Road, the North and the South bus stations.
The subway station Victory Monument is situated in the centre of the city, so you can get there from any part of the city, including the airport. When you go out from the subway and stay straight before monument, you will see the bus stop on the left side that is situated near the shop centre Century. There is small booking office where you can buy ticket for 180 baht. The transport goes every 20-30 minutes from 5 am to 7 pm and it departs when it’s full.
If you are near Khao San Road, you can go to any touristic agency and buy a bus ticket, but it will be more expensive here – about 400 baht. If you depart from the South or North bus stations, so the ticket costs about 180-200 baht. It will be easier to ask local people on the street where is this stop, they will tell you this for sure. All buses arrive to the tower with clocks (it’s crossroad of Phetkasem with Naeb Kehardt). It’s very comfortable, because it’s almost the centre of the city. The trip will take you about 3-3.5 hours.
The bus from Bangkok to Hua Hin
You can get to Hua Hin by usual bus that departs from the Suvarnabhumi Airport, the South bus station and Khao San Road. It departs from the airport from the 8 exit on the 1st level from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm every 1-2 hours. The price is only 305 baht.
From the South bus station it departs from 4 am to 10 pm every hour, the price is about 160 baht. If you want to go from Khaosan Road, you should buy the ticket in the nearest touristic agency. The price is 400 baht. The bus arrives to Hua Hin to 96 Soi (you can ask the driver to go out earlier). The trip will take you about 3.5 – 4 hours.
The train
The cheapest way is trip by train, but in this case the trip will take you about 4-6 hours. The railway station is situated in the centre of the city, near the metropolitan Hua Lamphong. There is railway station between Soi 76 and Soi 78 in Hua Hin (it’s almost the centre of the city).
The ticket costs about 100-150 baht and it depends on the class and speed of the train. There are seats and sleep places. It’s very comfortable because the big part of these trains departs late at night.
Booking transfer
The alternative way of trip by cab is personal transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin. The price for this kind of service begins from 3000 baht. You can book a car beforehand through the Internet or by phone. The actual prices you can check below:
There are posts in the Suvarnabhumi Airport of transport companies where you can book this service too and it will cost you 3000 baht. The driver will take passengers to the right place in Hua Hin in 2.5-3 hours. But of course it will be better to book it beforehand.
