The lake Heviz is the biggest thermal lake in the world, there is also resort city of the same name. Many tourists can get to this place through the international airport in Budapest and to do this, you should overpass distance in more than 200 km. You can book transfer from Budapest to Heviz or use local kinds of transports.

The bus from Budapest to Heviz
The most comfortable and economical way is direct bus from Budapest to Heviz. It departs from the main bus station Nepliget and goes to the central part of the resort. You can get from the aerostation to the bus station by cab in 20-30 minutes, you can call the car by phone or find an official transporter near the exit of terminal.
If you want to cut your expenses, you can ask the driver to turn on the counter, in this case the trip will cost you about в 3700-5000 HUF (11-15 euro). The second way is public transport. There is a post BBK where you can buy special ticket for 530 HUF for two kinds of local transport (you need bus and underground).
Then you go in the bus 200E, it goes every 10 minutes. The bus strop is situated in 50 m from the exit of terminal. You should punch your ticket before your trip. Then go out at the last stop Kobanya-Kispest and transfer to underground (use the same ticket).
You should go by blue line of the underground 4 stations to the bus station Nepliget. It is situated not far from the exit from the underground. The bus to Heviz goes every day from 6.30 am to 7 pm every hour. It will take you about 2.5 hours. You can buy ticket in the booking office of the bus station, it will cost you about 3700 HUF (12 euro).
The train
There is no direct train from Budapest to Heviz, you will need to transfer in the city Keszthely, that is situated only in 8 km from the resort. The trains depart from two railway stations in Budapest: Deli (few times a day from 7:30 am to 6 pm) and Keleti (two times a day – 10:15 am and 5:05 pm). You would rather choose the first station.
You can get from the airstation to it in 20 minutes by cab or by the same bus 200E and then by underground. From the underground station Kobanya-Kispest by red line we can get to the station Deli. The ticket will cost 3400-4000 HUF (15 euro) and it will take you about 3-3.5 hours.
It will be more comfortable to overpass the distance from Keszthely to Heviz by local bus and it will take you no more than 20 minutes. It’s convenient, because the bus stop is situated at the railway station. The ticket will cost about 400 HUF (1.5 euro).
Transfer or cab
If you book cab or personal tranfser from Budapest to Heviz, you will have the most comfortable trip to resort. The car will get to the place of your destination in 2.5 hours and the price for this service begins from 130 euro. You can book transfer online through the Internet. The alternative way could be group trasfer from Budapest to Heviz, but in this case you should wait some time until there will be all passengers in the minibus. Even if the flight is late, the transport will wait for all passengers and you shouldn’t pay extra money for this. The price for this kind of service varies in 70-80 euro and the trip will take you about 2.5 hours.
