Heviz is very popular balneotherapeutic health resort, which is situated in the west part of Hungary. Many tourists from different countries get there through the airport in Vienna, they should overpass distance in 190 km. There are few ways to get: you can book transfer from Vienna to Heviz by car, go by train or by bus.

1. The bus from Vienna to Heviz
There is no direct bus from Vienna (Austria) to Heviz (Hungary), because it was cancelled. So to get to the resort, you should transfer, sometimes even more than once. The most comfortable way to go by bus is through Hungarian town Gyor. The bus departs from the bus station Erdberg two times a day – in 7 am and around 7 pm.
It will be easier and cheaper to get from the airport in Vienna to this bus station by underground, using S-7 line. In 30 minutes to the centre of the town (Landstrasse, ticket costs 4 euro), then by orange railway branch U3 past 4 stops (it’s about 20 minutes and it costs 2.2 euro).
Ticket to Gyor (in Budapest direction) you can buy in the booking office of the bus station or beforehand through the Internet (you should print the cheque after your payment), it costs 9 euro. The trip will take you about 1.5 hour. There are two direct buses, which go from Gyor to Heviz (in 7.30 am and 1.05 pm). The trip will take a little more than 2.5 hour. There are many runs with transfers, but in this case it will take you from 3 to 5 hours. The price for this trip will be about 2500 HUF.
2. Train
There is another way to get from the airport in Vienna to Gyor by train, and then, using the same way, you can get by bus to the resort. At first you should use electric train S-Bahn (it costs 4 euro) or speed train CAT (it costs 12 euro) to get to the main railway station, it will take you no more than 25 minutes. Trains go to Gyor from the early morning to almost 10 pm every hour.
There are runs without transfers. In this case the trip will take you about 1.5 hour. And if you have to go with transfers, it will take you almost 2 hours. The price for the ticket costs 12 euro and it depends on the route. By your arrival to Gyor, you should get in the bus, which goes directly to Heviz or to Keszthely, that is located nearby (you can get from it to the resort by local bus in 20 minutes, that will cost you 1.5 euro).
The railway station in Gyor is situated near the bus station and when you go from platform you should using pedestrian subway get to the other side of the road.
3. Personal transfer

The whole trip by car will take you about 2.5-3 hour. The price varies in different companies, but the middle price for taxi from Vienna to Heviz is about 150 euro. Quite often many hotels offer such kind of service for their guests, but if is not included to the whole price, the price will be higher than in transport companies.
