Bus from Budapest airport to the city

There are two kinds of buses, that go to Budapest: they are usual 200E and shuttle bus 100E. If you want to go by bus 200E, you should be ready to continue your trip by underground. Price is 1.2 euro or 350 HUF. You can buy them at special vending machine near bus stops. You can buy them for cash or pay your card in local currency. If you want to ask the driver for your ticket, so it will cost 450 HUF.

The bus stop is situated on the left from arrival hall. 200E goes to underground station Kobanya – Kispest, that is situated not far from centre. Then you should follow arrows and maps. It won’t be difficult to get to the place of your destination: there are arrows everywhere, there are also volunteers, which help you to find your way.

There are many kinds of travel cards, so if you are going to travel by bus and underground you can buy transfer ticket for 1.7 euro or 530 HUF. If you are going to use these kinds of transport not only once per day, so there is need to buy travel card per day. There are also tickets for 72 hour or week.

Shuttle bus 100E is bus, that takes faster and more comfortable to the centre of Budapest from the airport without any transfers. The price is 3 euro or 900 HUF. It will take you about 40 minute, maximum one hour. There are only 4 stops.

You can check bus schedule on their official site bkk.hu. You should know, that buses go according to their schedule. The first run of 200E is at 4 am and the last one in 11 pm. Interval is 10 minute and it will take you about 30 minute. 100E goes from 3.40 am to 00.40 am, interval is about 20 minute. There are only two stops and both of them are in the centre of the city.

Train to the city from the airport

Trip by train is the worst way of trip, because at first you need to get to Terminal-1 of the airport, using bus 200E. Then you can buy train ticket and take your seat. It will take you about half an hour and price is 200 HUF.

Taxi

Taxi is available, but rather expensive kind of transport. Price differs from 20 to 30 euro. Such kind of transport is beneficial for groups of 3-4 people.

You should know, that there is another price for night time and you should be ready to overpay for your trip. There is another disadvantage. There are no child’s booster or child’s seat, that you maybe need.

Personal transfer in Budapest

Transfer is perfect way of transport for travelling in foreign country. You can book it and discuss its price beforehand through the Web. The company can give you the car you need. They can offer you a minibus, if you travel in company or usual passenger car. Also you can ask for any class of your car. If you travel with children, you can ask for child’s seat.

1. The bus from Vienna to Heviz

There is no direct bus from Vienna (Austria) to Heviz (Hungary), because it was cancelled. So to get to the resort, you should transfer, sometimes even more than once. The most comfortable way to go by bus is through Hungarian town Gyor. The bus departs from the bus station Erdberg two times a day – in 7 am and around 7 pm.

It will be easier and cheaper to get from the airport in Vienna to this bus station by underground, using S-7 line. In 30 minutes to the centre of the town (Landstrasse, ticket costs 4 euro), then by orange railway branch U3 past 4 stops (it’s about 20 minutes and it costs 2.2 euro).

Ticket to Gyor (in Budapest direction) you can buy in the booking office of the bus station or beforehand through the Internet (you should print the cheque after your payment), it costs 9 euro. The trip will take you about 1.5 hour. There are two direct buses, which go from Gyor to Heviz (in 7.30 am and 1.05 pm). The trip will take a little more than 2.5 hour. There are many runs with transfers, but in this case it will take you from 3 to 5 hours. The price for this trip will be about 2500 HUF.

2. Train

There is another way to get from the airport in Vienna to Gyor by train, and then, using the same way, you can get by bus to the resort. At first you should use electric train S-Bahn (it costs 4 euro) or speed train CAT (it costs 12 euro) to get to the main railway station, it will take you no more than 25 minutes. Trains go to Gyor from the early morning to almost 10 pm every hour.

There are runs without transfers. In this case the trip will take you about 1.5 hour. And if you have to go with transfers, it will take you almost 2 hours. The price for the ticket costs 12 euro and it depends on the route. By your arrival to Gyor, you should get in the bus, which goes directly to Heviz or to Keszthely, that is located nearby (you can get from it to the resort by local bus in 20 minutes, that will cost you 1.5 euro).

The railway station in Gyor is situated near the bus station and when you go from platform you should using pedestrian subway get to the other side of the road.

3. Personal transfer

But if you want to avoid any difficulties with many transfers and searching for right transport, it will be easier to book personal transfer from Vienna to Heviz. The driver will meet you with tablet with your name, help you to carry your luggage. You can choose transfer by using widget below:

The whole trip by car will take you about 2.5-3 hour. The price varies in different companies, but the middle price for taxi from Vienna to Heviz is about 150 euro. Quite often many hotels offer such kind of service for their guests, but if is not included to the whole price, the price will be higher than in transport companies.

The bus from Budapest to Heviz

The most comfortable and economical way is direct bus from Budapest to Heviz. It departs from the main bus station Nepliget and goes to the central part of the resort. You can get from the aerostation to the bus station by cab in 20-30 minutes, you can call the car by phone or find an official transporter near the exit of terminal.

If you want to cut your expenses, you can ask the driver to turn on the counter, in this case the trip will cost you about в 3700-5000 HUF (11-15 euro). The second way is public transport. Then you go in the bus 200E, it goes every 10 minutes. The bus strop is situated in 50 m from the exit of terminal. You should punch your ticket before your trip. Then go out at the last stop Kobanya-Kispest and transfer to underground (use the same ticket).

You should go by blue line of the underground 4 stations to the bus station Nepliget. It is situated not far from the exit from the underground. The bus to Heviz goes every day from 6.30 am to 7 pm every hour. It will take you about 2.5 hours. You can buy ticket in the booking office of the bus station, it will cost you about 3700 HUF (12 euro).

The train

There is no direct train from Budapest to Heviz, you will need to transfer in the city Keszthely, that is situated only in 8 km from the resort. The trains depart from two railway stations in Budapest: Deli (few times a day from 7:30 am to 6 pm) and Keleti (two times a day – 10:15 am and 5:05 pm). You would rather choose the first station.

You can get from the airstation to it in 20 minutes by cab or by the same bus 200E and then by underground. From the underground station Kobanya-Kispest by red line we can get to the station Deli. The ticket will cost 3400-4000 HUF (15 euro) and it will take you about 3-3.5 hours.

It will be more comfortable to overpass the distance from Keszthely to Heviz by local bus and it will take you no more than 20 minutes. It’s convenient, because the bus stop is situated at the railway station. The ticket will cost about 400 HUF (1.5 euro).

Transfer or cab

If you book cab or personal tranfser from Budapest to Heviz, you will have the most comfortable trip to resort. The car will get to the place of your destination in 2.5 hours and the price for this service begins from 130 euro. You can book transfer online through the Internet. The alternative way could be group trasfer from Budapest to Heviz, but in this case you should wait some time until there will be all passengers in the minibus. Even if the flight is late, the transport will wait for all passengers and you shouldn’t pay extra money for this. The price for this kind of service varies in 70-80 euro and the trip will take you about 2.5 hours.
