Flights from Ho Chi Minh to Phu Quoc

It’s the simplest way to get to the island from Ho Chi Minh. There are everyday flights that make Vietnam Airlines, VietJetAir, Jetstar Pacific. The trip will take you about one hour. Transfer Ho Chi Minh to Phu Quoc

It will cost you about 25-30$. There is always a bus that will take tourists to the place of their destination. Tourists, who don’t want to buy ticket in the agency, could get to Phu Quoc themselves. There also few ways to get there.

At first you need to get to Mien Tay Bus Station in Ho Chi Minh, where you can buy ticket for “sleeping bus” that goes to Rach Gia. The ticket costs about 160-200 thousand dongs and it will take you about 6 hours. It will take you from the bus station to the dock.

The ticker for launcher to Phu Quoc you can buy in the harbor. The price depends on the class of state room and it is about 160-350 thousand dongs. The trip will take you about 2 and half an hour. The last run is in 1 pm and if you be late, you will have to wait to next morning.

There are tickets on the launch for shuttle that take tourists from the dock to the city of Phu Quoc. It will cost about 25 thousand dongs. They arrive to two docks: Duong Dong or An Thoi.

Transfer through Ha Tien

There is another way of transfer through the small town Ha Tien. There is direct bus from it to the bus station in Ho Chi Minh. It goes in 8 am and the ticket costs about 100 thousand dongs. You can do it any other time, but you will have to make transfers and it is not comfortable. The trip will take you about 7 hours.

The ship goes to the island in 8 am, 10 am and 1 pm, so you will have to spend one night in one of the local hotels (the price begins from 5$). You can buy ticket at your hotel, in excursion office or near the dock. The ticket for the ship to Phu Quoc costs about 100-190 dongs.

You should buy them beforehand because they could be sold out quickly. The sea trip will take you about one and half an hour. There are also tickets for minibus that will take tourists to their hotels.

• Advantages: it’s cheap
• Disadvantages: nevertheless, the seats are not so comfortable and there are very strong air conditioners so it’s very easy to catch a cold.

You have to know that before you will hop on the bus you will have to take your shoes off. So if conductor will offer you plaid you should take it.

The train

Train № SPT2 departs from the main railway station in Ho Chi Minh and it goes through the centre of Phan Thiet every day in 6:50, 11:25 am and 4:45 pm. The ticket costs about 100 000 dongs ($5). The railway stations is situated on 1 Nguyen Thong Street and it works from 7:30 am till 19:30 pm. The trip will take you about 4.5-5 hours.

Flights from Ho Chi Minh to Nha Trang

Trip by bus

It is the most comfortable and cheapest way to get to Nha Trang. You can use long-distance sleeping bus or just an ordinary bus. Sleeping bus departs from the tourist region of Ho Chi Minh. Trip by train

There is a railway way between Ho Chi Minh and Nha Trang. Train goes few times a day. There are express or ordinary trains. The trip will take you about 7-9 hours and the price of ticket depends on the quality of train and quantity of stops. The price is about 16-43$.

You can buy ticket at the railway station of Ho Chi Minh that is called Ga Sai Gon (it is situated not far from the centre of the town) or in the special office that is located by address 275C Pham Ngu Lao (in the famous touristic region). Cab from Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne

The Bus from Ho Chi Minh to Muine

If you choosed public transport, you will need to go by bus with many changes. There is tourist bus that will help you in this. You will see the bus stop near the exit from the airport. You need bus number 152 that will take you in 20 minutes to the centre of Ho Chi Minh, to the street Pham Ngu Lao. The bus ticket costs about 5 thousand dongs.

There are many tour agencies where you can buy tour ticket for the bus to Muine. There are two type of buses: ordinary (open bus), this ticket will cost about $5-8 and with sleep places (sleeping bus), this ticket will be more expensive, about $10, because this bus is more comfortable.

You can get to your hotel by these buses; you just need to tell full address where your hotel is situated. Many buses depart in the morning, about 8 am, there are few buses that go in the afternoon (about 1 and 3 pm) and one bus that goes in the evening, about 8 pm.

If you don’t want to wait for your bus, you can use suburban bus that goes every 30 minutes. They depart from the bus station Ho Chi Minh and goes to the station in Phan Tiet (it’s the city near Mui Ne). Ticket costs about $7-8 and this trip will take you about 5 hours. From the tour centre in Ho Chi Minh to the station you can get by cab or public bus (there are many buses), and you will need to get from Phan Tiet to your hotel in Mui Ne.

Trip by train

There is another way to get from Ho Chi Minh to Phan Tiet. You can do this by train. The railway station in Ho Chi Ming is situated almost in the centre of the city (it will take you about 20 minutes to get there on foot). The price of ticket depends on the class of carriage costs $5-18 and this trip will take you about 4-5 hours.
